It really is a shame how attached we have become to the idea and immediacy of plastic water bottles. In addition to the wasted energy and materials you mentioned, there is also the concern about small, carcinogenic particulates that “melt” into the water if, say, it is heated in a car….not good! Personally, I prefer a refillable metal bottle; it also keeps the water cool for longer.

I agree, I don’t get why people still use so many plastic water bottles. It’s not difficult or expensive to buy a reusable metal one and fill it up. You save money in the long run, you help the environment, and you stay away from toxic chemicals.

The only time I do use the plastic water bottles is when I go to baseball games–sealed plastic water bottles are the only type of drink you’re allowed to take in. I don’t like doing it, but there aren’t many good alternatives.

I agree with everyone, i don’t uderstand why people use plastic bottles. People know how horrible they are for the environment, yet still choose to use them! They end up in landfills and hurt our environment. Thats why i don’t use plastic water bottles. I use a wide variety since i became eco-friendly.
Thanks for the great blog! We all need to do our part to help the environment!
