Anaheim has been named the top “Eco City” in Orange County, according to the Orange County Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council.
The top three cities were Anaheim, Huntington Beach, and Irvine. Other cities that made the top ten include: Aliso Viejo, Costa Mesa, Dana Point, Newport Beach, Orange, San Clemente, and Santa Ana.
The criteria that was evaluated by the USGBC includes: alternative transportation, green building incentives, green space/open space, schools, landscape/water use, internal building and public facilities, renewable, recycling/composting, innovation, and how knowledgeable the city staff and leaders were on the sustainability within their regions.
Way to go Anaheim! Maybe Tustin will make the top 10 next year!
